Path trace detail
The trace runs from our test server toward you, one router at a time — hop 1 sits beside the server, the last hop that answers is your connection, and your ISP's gear usually comes just before it. 12 or more hops is normal. The Zone column shows whose network a hop sits in, and the hostname usually names the operator (e.g. comcast.net, cloudflare.com).
How it works: Speedbug measures latency, download, upload and bufferbloat from your browser against your nearest server, traces the route hop by hop from our own server, then translates the raw numbers into plain language. Read the full methodology →
